Application Process

Site Preparation

Existing structures should be thoroughly cleaned prior to treatment. Solid, non-porous surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and any residue from cleaning agents must be rinsed from the surfaces to be treated. Soft surfaces such as carpets and upholstery should be well vacuumed (preferably with a HEPA vacuum) or professionally cleaned. Once the surface is clean, application by a Certified Applicator can begin.

Step 1: Inititial Onsite Cleanliness Inspection

Certified technicians thoroughly inspect each facet of the property to ensure that it has been professionally cleaned. This level of cleanliness is critical to ensure the Microbe Guard™ antimicrobial treatment will not trap dirt, fingerprints or any other unwanted marks.

Step 2: Finished Interior Application

Every surface on the inside of a finished building including but not limited to the ceiling, exterior and interior walls, floor surfaces, windows, bathroom fixtures and cabinetry…every surface on the inside of the structure.

Microbe Guard™ treatments are applied by a unique fogging application. This method is ensures complete coverage. The fog reaches deep into nooks and crannies where sprays and foams can’t go. You should protect silks, rayons, original paintings and unplug any electronics prior to application. Carpets and flooring should be allowed to dry before walking on the surface.

Step 3: Post-Application Procedure

After the DURABAN™ antimicrobial application process has been completed, the technician posts a notice stating when the property will be completly dry and re-entry can occur without concern of negatively impacting the application process. After approving the application treatment, Microbe Guard of Southern Wisconsin certified technicians also post a completion certificate. This certificate includes the signature and certification number of the authorized technician who performed the services.

Proven Protection

Microbe Guard™ has the only EPA registered technologies available today that have more than 30 years of safe use and is used by hundreds of millions of people. Since the cured antimicrobial is non-volatile, insoluble and non-leaching, the treatment should last for the life of the treated surface. The life of a treated surface depends on a number of factors, not the least of which is surface preparation. If you treat a dirty or unstable surface, when the dirt comes off or the surface is disturbed, the effectiveness of the antimicrobial will decrease. Abrasive or caustic (PH>10.5) cleaners will also shorten effective life. In our experience, our home / office applicators have seen effectiveness for over fifteen years.
